Lindsey Siegel
Director of Housing Advocacy, Atlanta Legal Aid Society
As the Director of Housing Advocacy at the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Lindsey coordinates the organization’s litigation and policy advocacy on behalf of low-income tenants. Lindsey litigates housing cases in federal and state court, including bringing fair housing claims against landlords and public housing authorities for discriminatory practices. Most recently, Lindsey led a team that sued an extended stay company for illegally evicting residents during the pandemic. The tenants were successful in the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the court’s order established a new statewide precedent upholding tenant protections for long-term residents of extended stays (currently on appeal in the Georgia Supreme Court). Lindsey received her Bachelor’s degree from Emory University and her law degree from American University Washington College of Law.
