Josh Humphries

Mayor’s Policy Advisor for Housing, City of Atlanta

Josh spends most of his time thinking about ways to make cities work better for their most vulnerable residents. He currently serves as Mayor Andre Dickens’ Policy Advisor for Housing, leading policy strategy and implementation of the Mayor’s affordable housing agenda. Recent initiatives include launching the Mayor’s Housing Strike Force to expedite the development of public land for housing, leading a cross-agency effort to address problem properties and raise the standard of housing in Atlanta, and coordinating the Mayor’s faith-based affordable housing initiative. Josh previously served as the Director of the Office of Housing and Community Development for the City of Atlanta. Prior to joining the City of Atlanta, Josh worked as a community organizer and community development leader in Los Angeles and New York City. Josh has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Kennesaw State University and a master of divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary.
