Dr. Christie Cade, PhD.
Vice President, Southern Region, NeighborWorks America
As Vice President, Dr. Cade directs the deployment of NeighborWorks America’sfinancialand technical services throughout thirteen states in the Southeast Region of the U.S. and the District of Columbia.She leads a team of professionals focused on advancing affordable housing development, homeownership promotion and preservation, communitydevelopment and lending in both urban and rural communities. Additionally, Dr. Cade leads the regional community trauma and disaster recovery initiatives.
Dr. Cade has over 30 yearsof progressive leadership experience in affordable housing development, financing, organizational management, and business development. She has served in executive roles for nonprofit, public, and fortune 500 entities. Before joining NeighborWorks, she led the Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership’s multi-jurisdiction single family housing development and homeownership program. She also served as the Assistant Director of Housing for the State of Georgia’s Housing Finance Agency and was responsible for administering the state and federal low income housing tax credits, affordable housing development financing and single family mortgage revenue bond financing. Dr. Cade has held executive leadership roles in non-profit housing development entities in the Midwest and Northeast.
Dr. Cade currently serves on the Cadence Bank Community Development Advisory Committee, Georgia Advancing Communities Together Board of Directors, Emory University Board of Visitors, Disaster Housing Recovery Coalition, Gateway Regional Council Board of Directors and the Greater New Orleans Equitable Development Funders Roundtable.
She is a graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Business and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from Avila University and a PhD. in Organizational Development and Leadership.
