Alena Green is Project Manager of Economic Development at Central Atlanta Progress (CAP). CAP is a private business association providing leadership, programs and services to preserve and strengthen the economic vitality of Downtown Atlanta. With a board of directors of Downtown’s top civic leaders, CAP is funded through the investment of businesses and institutions. In her role, Alena leads CAP’s economic development and public policy related initiatives including ongoing engagement with Atlanta’s real estate community, data analysis, and business retention and recruitment efforts. Alena was a member of the Committee for a Better Atlanta (CBA) during the 2017 city election cycle, and also spearheaded CBA’s Summit on Housing Affordability and Equitable Development. Alena has lent ongoing project support to HouseATL, a cross-sector taskforce charged with developing a coordinated housing affordability action plan for the City of Atlanta. Prior to joining Central Atlanta Progress, Alena was the Strategic Initiatives Manager for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, in their Community Investment department. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Urban Planning and Political Science from Rutgers University. She lives in West End with her husband and daughter.
